Artha Beekshan seeks to encourage and publish both theoretical and empirical research articles that are of high scientific quality and offer new insights in the field of economics and allied areas. The journal aims not only to focus on contemporary issues in India or abroad, but to impact directly on decision-making processes in the concerned field. To this end we are inviting original research articles on theoretical, empirical, experimental economics. The articles may also be interdisciplinary in nature having a strong socio-economic or policy implications for India or West Bengal. Before submission the authors are requested to kindly go through the guidelines to the author of the journal and adhere to it.
Reviewing Process:
Each paper is reviewed by the editors and, if judged suitable for this publication, is then sent to two referees for double blind peer review. The editors then decide whether the paper should be accepted as it is, accepted with minor revision, accepted with major changes or rejected. Artha Beekshan is committed to an initial decision on a research article within four months from the date of assigning a referee to the paper.
Guidelines for the Authors:
- 1. All articles must be in English with an abstract of not more than 300 words, keywords, and JEL Classification Codes.
- 2. Articles published elsewhere should not be sent. Presentation in Conferences should be indicated.
- 3. Authors must authenticate their writings with full name and address on a separate sheet to maintain anonymity.
- 4. Papers should be submitted in MS-WORD format (.doc or .docx), typed in double space with Times New Roman (12 points font).
- 5. Footnotes should be indicated consecutively by superscript numbers and entered serially at the end.
- 6. Bibliographical references should follow footnotes in alphabetical order.
- 7. Quotations must be carefully checked and citations in the text must read thus (Hicks 1993). References in the bibliography should be in the form: Hicks, J.R. (1939): Value and Capital, followed by name of publisher and place of publication. Authors should adhere to Chicago Manual of Style/ APA citation style.
- 8. Tables should be numbered and titled at the top; sources should be mentioned below.
- 9. Mathematical expressions must be easily printable; full proofs on a separate sheet.
- 10. Diagrams should be clearly drawn in black ink on glossy white paper with all axes clearly positioned. The width of a diagram should not normally exceed 6 cm. The legend in respect of the diagram should be stated below the diagram. Diagrams should be inserted in the text with appropriate numbering and should be in compatible formats as BMP, JPG, JPEG, TIF, WMF or EPS.
- 11. Use single quotation marks; double only within quotations. Indent quotations over 50 words.
- 12. Italicisation and spellings (British/American) must be consistent throughout.
- 13. Write numerals between one and ninety-nine in words, and 100 and above in figures. However, the following are to be in figures only: Distance: 3 km; Age: 32 years old; Percentage: 64 percent; Century: 20th century; & Years: 1990s.
- 14. Authors should supply art pools of their diagrams.
- 15. All materials submitted for publication should be typed in double space and 2 additional copies should be provided for references. Manuscripts will not be returned to the author(s) unless referee suggests revision of the contents. Revised manuscripts must be submitted in the same form as the original.
- 16. Submissions may be sent in duplicate along with a soft copy in CD to the office of the Bangiya Arthaniti Parishad, or submitted online.
- 17. The submission fee is applicable only for non-life members of the Association; for life members of the Association, the submission fee is nil.
- 18. Each submitted paper is peer-reviewed double-blind by a panel of distinguished Referees.
- 19. The Editorial Board reserves the right to edit or reject any material without assigning reasons.
